Kaduna Guber Election: INEC Declares El-Rufai official winner
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) today declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Malam Nasir El-Rufai as the official winner of the Saturday’s guber election in the State .
Prof. Mohammed Yahuza Bello, the Returning Officer for the governorship election, who announced the results, said El-Rufai scored a total vote of 1.045,427 to emerge as winner.
He also announced that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate, Hon. Isa Mohammed Ashiru polled a total vote of 814,168.
According to the Returning Officer, “Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of the All Progressives Congress having scored the highest number of votes and met all the requirements of the law, is hereby returned elected”.
The results of the 23 local government areas of the state, show that, Governor El-Rufai won 14 local government areas of Makarfi, Soba, Kudan, Ikara, Kauru, Kubau, Kaduna North, Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Sabongari, Lere, Kaduna South, Zaria and Igabi local government areas.
While his main contender in the race , Hon. Isa Ashiru Kudan of the People’s Democratic Party ,(PDP) won in nine local government areas Jaba, Kachia, Kaura, Kajuru, Zango Kataf, Sanga, Chikun, Kagarko and Jema’a local government areas.
