Kaduna Youth Agenda : One Project Afrika Inaugurates Media Cohort Advocacy Group

A non governmental organisation, One Project Afrika Reach Out Foundation has inaugurated a media cohort group as one of its partners in progress to help drive the advocacy programme of its new programme tagged :Kaduna Youth Agenda.

According to the NGO, the Kaduna Youth Agenda programme will cover five thematic areas such as :agriculture, education, health, job creation and peace building .

Addressing members of the media group during the inauguration ceremony held as Thamis Event Centre ,Barnawa,Kaduna , the Executive Director, One Project Afrika Reach Out Foundation (OPA), Mrs Zigwai Ayuba

advised the Kaduna State Peace Commission to promote and establish a permanent dialogue mechanism, while making case for the appointment of youth representative in the commission.
She also urged the government to work toward improving capacity staff of the Commission on mediation, dialogue and reconciliation to be carried out in communities.

She however, emphasised that, “Government should ensure timely release of funds and cash backing to enable peace commission undertake comprehensive peace education in schools and rural communities”.

Meanwhile she suggested that in the short term, there should be appointment of youth representative in Kaduna Peace Commission, while in the long run, it made demands for the amendment of Kaduna Peace Commission.
The One Project Afrika Reach Out Foundation (OPA) is Collaborating with key partners, National Democratic Institute (NDI), USAID, UKaid among others to drive the advocacy programme in Nigeria.
