Governor Shettima receives sets of children on free education in Kano
Governor Kashim Shettima has received students of the Mariri Internally displaced children school in Kano, who are on scholarship sponsored by the Kano State Government.
The students who are currently on Ramadan break, visited the governor at the Government House, Maiduguri.
The support by Kano State was to shield them from possible psychological trauma as a result of their experience during the insurgency, helping in shaping their lives positively.
Governor Shettima thanked Governor Ganduje and the Kano State Government for this gesture, so also thanked the children for the manner they have been conducting themselves, urging them to keep being good kids and study well.
The state’s Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Fanta Baba-Shehu noted that the Kano State Government extended their scholarship up to university level.
One of their teachers who escorted them thanked both Governors and prayed for them as Governor Shettima gave each and everyone of the students a token as pocket money.
