9th Senate : Displaced Nigerians Back Senator Gaya’s Deputy Senate Presidency Election Bid

Displaced Nigerians in different displaced camps in Abuja the nation’s capital have joined other Nigerians in the call on the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and senators’ elect from other parties to support Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya for deputy senate president of the 9th Senate.
Our correspondent ,who visited the IDP camp at Lugbe FCT, reports that many people in the camp from the North-East who spoke with our reporter said that they are nostalgic of their home and called on 9th Senate to help them to return to their homes by electing the Kano South senator as the deputy senate president in the new dispensation.
Mallam Goni Bulama who spoke on behalf others in the camp said that the call became necessary because the senator as a member of the Senate proposed North-East Development Commission (NEDC) and have tendency and capabilities of doing more if given for ensuring that the North-East is secured for the indegines to return home without further delay. He added that if the federal government is as serious as Senator Gaya in looking into their plight, they could have returned home since. Bulama plead with the parties and politicians not to play politics with the issue but elect the Senate Committee chairman on Works as deputy senate president for speedy implementation of policies for a brighter future of the displaced people.
He called on the NWC of the ruling party, President Muhammadu Buhari and the entire senators of the 9th Senate to bring development to the country by electing experienced people as officials of the assembly this time around.
