Abba Kyari, Mustapha re-appointment will stabilise polity-Nakande
Former Minister of State for information and communications, Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki Nakande, has described the re-appointment of Malam Abba Kyari and Boss Mustapha as Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF respectively as a wise decision that will further stabilise the polity.

Nakande who spoke with newsmen in Jos, Plateau State, said Abba Kyari and Mustapha have been strong pillars of support for the current administration who should be on board to consolidate made during the first term.

The former minister who is a chieftain of the APC in Plateau State, said the knowledge and experience of the two are needed for the administration to deliver on its outstanding promises to Nigerians.

According to him, President Buhari did the right thing by re-apointing Abba Kyari to be part of his second term journey as nobody understands the policies of the current administration better to coordinate activities in the presidency like Abba Kyari adding that since Boss Mustapha came on board in 2017, the quality of governance had deepened.

He said; “Bringing in new persons at this stage to serve in those two key position s would have meant going back to the drawing board to start afresh.
“Abba Kyari has been there from day one even before the appointment of ministers so he knows the history of every policy and progress any policy direction of the present government and he has worked hard to see the administration succeed, while Mustapha who took over as SGF in 2017 has added value to governance so it would have been counterintuitive for Mr. President to have dropped any of them because as the say in sports, you don’t change a winning coach.

“The two men posses the winning formula so it is only right that they should be allowed to continue.”

Nakande said Abba Kyari and Mustapha have proven to be dedicated and loyal to the president saying in advanced democracies, such persons are revered as the engines of government and are kept for the success of administrations.

He further said, “People forget how the chief of staff was able to keep a positive attitude when the President was on medical vacation abroad some years back.
“It was that positive attitude that Abba Kyari projected that served to encourage others in government to have the same attitude and encouraged them to perform their responsibilities efficiently until the President came back.

“That is something the President and indeed well meaning Nigerians cannot forget in a hurry because it helped us to get over a most trying moment in our history so it is most appropriate for the President to retain Abba Kyari.

“Mustapha on his part has remained focused and had contributed in stabilising the polity by his matured approach to issues and sincerity of purpose.
“Since he became the SGF, he has brought goodwill and increased the level of confidence the people have on the current adminstration.”

The former minister also congratulated all the aides that were appointed and urged them sustain the good work that will enable the President take Nigeria to the next level.
