Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mele Kyari had expressed committed to rehabilitating Nigeria’s refineries to produce at optimum capacity.
Speaking at the 2019 Society of Petroleum Engineers Conference in Lagos, Kyari also promised to support new refineries to operate and produce optimally.
According to him,NNPC is working hard to ensure that importation of fuel stopped by 2023.
“We are going to rehabilitate our refineries to make them functional to oeperate at least at 90% capacity.
“Others who have such initiatives to put in place new refineries will be supported by providing them with all the necessary government support that they need to make sure that these refineries come on”.
“Lastly when they produce, we will be there to take the products from them” he stated.
