Buhari Invites Gov. Zulum to Saudi Arabia’s Investment Initiative
On invitation, Borno Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum today accompanied President Muhammadu Buhari to Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the third edition of a Future Investment Initiative (FII) organized by the Saudi government.
Special Adviser on Public Relations and Strategy, Malam Isa Gusau, said Governor Zulum along with President Buhari and Governors of Katsina and Kebbi states, departed Abuja on board presidential jet.
Gusau explained, while making copious reference to an earlier statement from the Nigerian presidency, that the event with the theme, ‘What’s Next for Global Business?’ is scheduled to hold from Tuesday, October 29 to Thursday, October 31, 2019, with focus on sustainable future, technology for good and advanced society.
The three-day event would be chaired by Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, who is also the deputy premier and chairman, Saudi’s Council of Economic and Development Affairs and the Public Investment Fund (PIF) which is driving the event.
Malam Gusau explained further that as member of presidential delegation, Governor Zulum, will in his normal tradition, use the Saudi investment initiative, to widen his reach by establishing new contacts with high level participants with the goal of exploring recovery and development opportunities for the benefit of Borno state and its good people.
The special adviser added that Buhari’s Presidential delegation also included four ministers, the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), the national security adviser; the director-general of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar and Mele Kyari, the group managing director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
President Buhari, will according to media reports attributed to his spokespersons, proceed to Makkah, after the conference in Riyadh, to perform the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) before returning to Abuja.
