Borno Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum on Sunday Commissioned a primary healthcare centre in Pulka, Gwoza local Government Area and also directed Borno State Rural Water Supply Agency to drill 10 deep aquifer boreholes to address the perennial water problem facing the town. Also commissioned by the Governor, was Government lodge Gwoza.

Governor Zulum was in Gwoza on an assessment with a view to providing social amenities that would pave way for the restoration of civil authorities in communities around Gwoza town.

The Governor equally visited Ngoshe, also in Gwoza Local government during which he made an assessment of destruction made by insurgents on public and private buildings.

Zulum also had an assessment on the progress of an ongoing 250 housing units in Ngoshe to facilitate quick return. Prof. Zulum directed the ministry of RRR to support additional 750 residents of Ngoshe who are taking refuge in Pulka to rehabilitate their homes.

The Governor noted that 1000 people would be encouraged to return to Ngoshe in two months.

On a similar note, Governor Zulum takes an assessment of Nguro Soye in Bama Local Government Area with a view to returning residents who are willing to come back home.

On his second day, Governor Zulum attended Nigerian Army social activities and operation lafiya dole medal parade 2019.

Medal parade, a military annual ceremony where some men and officers who distinguished themselves in cause of their services are decorated with a medal award. The occasion was organised by the theatre comand operation lafiya in Gowza, Borno state.

While in Gwoza town, Governor Zulum supervised the distribution of food and non food items to IDPs and host communities.

Over 16,000 men and women were reached according to a combined statistics taken during the exercise. Food items distributed included, rice, maize, beans and a coking oil for men, while wrapper and cash were given to women.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum rounded up his three days official visit to Gowza on a visit to Government Day Secondary School Gwoza, where he directed the ministry of Education to rehabilitate the school for immediate resettlement of all students that are willing to come back.
