JAMB :Caleb Danladi Foundation Establishes Computer Centre in Southern Kaduna
…Donates Items To Orphans, Widows
The Caleb Danladi Foundation has established a Computer centre in Sambam and donated, beds, mattresses, wrapper’s, bags, uniforms and cash to Byabhyih Shezhi Dadu Orphanage in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
While donating the items to the orphanage recently , founder of the organisation, Captain Caleb Danladi said, the decision to distribute the items is aimed at eradicating poverty and reduce the rate of crime in Southern Kaduna communities.
“Why the Foundation is focusing on widows is that they’re the must vulnerable in the society,” adding “when their husbands die, they’re sometimes deprived of their husbands’ properties and you realised they can’t be able to sent their children to school.
” The Foundation is trying to re-awaken and renew their hope to achieve their dreams in life when they thought their dreams are already shattered.”
Capt. Danladi said “the Foundation is trying to assist those who cannot pay their schools fees as a way of giving hope to the hopeless to ensure that they have a better future.”
“If you look at the crime rate in the society today,” he continued, “you will found out that children of widows are the ones most exposed by economic difficulties to perpetrating crimes simply because they don’t have access to basic education.”
He explained that the Foundation is trying to ensure that orphans do not only have access to basic education but to also have knowledge about life to enable them remain focused, resilient and determined to achieved their dreams.
The marine transport officer observed that, the poverty rate in Southern Kaduna region is extremely high, stressing that most of the widows in the area are living in abject poverty.
“I call on Southern Kaduna’s sons and daughters with means to return home and invest in the lives of orphans and widows so that we can have a better society.”
He disclosed that the Foundation in the year 2020 is going to select a number of women to train in agriculture, sewing, trading and also give them starter packs.
“We shall also be focusing on training our youth in computer operations so that they can be able to write JAMB effectively, adding we want them to go to school and make a meaningful life in the society, ” he added.
The philanthropist revealed that the Foundation is fully funded from his own personal pocket without any international support or from any quarters.
“I am just passionate about rendering humanitarian service to the downtrodden so I draw funds from my salary to run the NGO.”
