Kebbi indigenes under umbrella of Concerned Citizens of Kebbi State have blamed low level of development in the State to failure on side of Governor Atiku Bugudu to address economic problems militating against progress of the State.

Speaking at a press Congress held at NUJ Secretariat ,Kaduna on Wednesday,   the Coordinator of Concerned Kebbi  Citizens ,Alhaji Murtala Adamu Kimba said, ”  Leadership of Senator Atiku Bagudu  in the past five years has only succeeded in creating street beggars and destitute in the Society by his deliberate policy and non inclusiveness of people in the scheme of things.

While alleging that there is complete lack of infrastructures befitting the State capital, they said ,” Kebbi  is only the State capital without standard roads network, no standard drainages and other public facilities befitting a State Capital. ”

The Coordinator stated further : ”  The only market in Birnin Kebbi destroyed by fire incident 4 years ago is still waiting for completion repairs by the Government. Businesses have suffered ever since that fire incident.
Adamu , who is Keen and passionate about the Development of my State, Kebbi State, the land of Equity, said , “The low level of development in Kebbi State and virtually nothing is working well with high level of theft by Government Officials and their cronies.

” Nigerians need to know that the Anchor borrowers program launched in Kebbi State in 2015 by Mr. President was a total failure in the State. Virtually, the amount earmarked for the program was diverted by Government and party Officials. The few farmers who benefitted from the program that could not repay are now subjected to Courts for recovery but the officials are left without any attempt to bring them to legal process.
“These problems are now responsible for non availability of paddy rice for the major Rice Mills to process ,but have to rely on importation of paddy from neighbouring countries to feed their Mills.

“While a lot of people are facing serious economic hardship in the State, Atiku Bagudu earmarked 630 million of Naira to host Yauri Boat Regatta and Argungu International Fishing festival without being sensitive to the economic situation of the State and the national concern of the issues of corona virus in some parts of the country even as the national Assembly has closed down for the same sake.
We demanded for outright cancellation of the Argungu International Fishing festival to avoid further spread of Lassa fever and corona virus currently in the country. Other countries affected have also taken similar measures in that direction.
” We Therefore wish to condemn the rational behind spending billions of Naira in events that cannot generate even N100 million out of the huge Investments.

” Just few days after spending huge amount on rigata fire outbreak damaged several shops and houses in Yauri and Kamba resulted in loosing hundreds of millions worth of properties as a result of non availability of fire fighting vehicles in the State. The amount earmarked for the two festivals can procure more that 25 b,standard fire fighting vehicles for the State capital and all the 21 local government areas of the State.
“Let’s also remind the people of Kebbi State that some persons closed to the APC led administration had previously been critical of all the former Governors alleging  poor performance but today when we are having the worst leadership under Atiku Bagudu they remained silent. Why are people like Dr Hali Bala, Alh Sani Dododo and others not talking on the current state of things in Kebbi State.

” And therefore wish to use this medium to call on Governor Atiku Bagudu to resign from office due to his glaring failures as well as clear his name in the ongoing issues around the Abacha loot.
” Also want call to  on EFCC to investigate the Kebbi State Government under Senator Atiku Bagudu for receiving over 450 Billion Naira in the last five years with nothing to show for the huge amount received.”
