The National Association of Nigerian Students,(NANS) Kaduna Chapter , All Arewa Youths Forum (AAYF) and Kaduna Youth and Community Development Volunteers (KAYCDEV) have called on cooperate organisations in State to join hands with the state government in its efforts to ensuring that Kaduna residents; most vulnerable are provided with palliatives .
According to them, at a time like this when the world is battling with the Novel Corona Virus pandemic and economic hardship, the students and youth groups are constraint to release this statement on behalf of the good people of Kaduna State.
In a statement jointly signed by Umar Farouk Gazali ,Chairman NANS ,JCC Kaduna Axis and Abdullahi M Gema,
Secretary KAYCDEV on behalf Coalition of Youth Groups, the Students and groups ,” We plead that Cooperate bodies/organizations and well meaning individuals within the state to as a matter of patriotism ensure that vulnerable persons within their host communities are taken care of.
“Kaduna have been under lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic, that has become a threat to human race on earth, putting human lives in jeopardy, threatening with hunger and economic meltdown.
” It should be taken into consideration that the State is blessed with approximately 9 million people thereabout, with over 65% living from hand to mouth on daily basis. With the emergency lockdown the above percentage are faced with a huge challenge which they have no control over, that is why the leaderships of the above organizations, deemed it fit to call on all factory/Company owners,commercial banks, oil and gas industries and other eligible persons to take up their cooperate social responsibility to hel placate the the hardship of the people of Kaduna state which will go a long way in reducing crime and hunger rates throughout this lockdown period.
“As we all know the government of Kaduna state has played a vital role in providing palliative among the most vulnerable, which we can all agree that government alone can’t take the responsibility, but with the support from the relevant institutions, and their contributions, threat of all kind can be curtailed to it minimal.”That is why we are calling upon the institutions to do the needful to their relevant host communities, as failure to do such shall lead to a call to boycott of your products and services by the good people of Kaduna state. “
