Covid-19: Rep Member, Yakubu Barde Lauds KDSG’s Proactive Measures to stop spread
…Says Govt. Commitment renews confidence in our ability to battle  pandemic

As the world fights to overcome the    Covid-19 pandemic   ,the former Minority Whip of the National Assembly and Member Representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Umar Barde  has come out strongly to acknowledge Kaduna State Government’s swift response and measures taken so far to contain and halt the spread of   Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the State.


Speaking to news men in Kaduna, Hon. Yakubu Barde said,”…the commitment and dexterity shown so far in managing and handling the outbreak of the novel Corona virus, gives renew confidence in our ability as a nation to battle Covid-19…”
“a stitch in time not only saves nine, it prevents rags. Kaduna State has adopted some proactive measures aimed at combating and halting the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, which is commendable and remains satisfactory. The engagement between the government and it’s citizens have been robust, with daily updates and information on what need to be done to remain safe”.


He also applauded the efforts of the government in doling out palliatives worth over N500million to the most vulnerable in the society. “As a legislator, we unanimously donated our two month salaries to the federal government as our contribution to the fight against the fight for Covid19. In the same vain, I have made my personal donation, also to the Kaduna State government in support of her efforts towards curbing the spread of Covid19 pandemic across the state”.

He used the medium to call on well meaning individuals, organization, philanthropist and NGO’s to donate towards this course.


Hon. Barde, expresses his grief and sadness over the fracas that occurred on Monday at Trikania Sabon-garin Nassarawa, where some youth lost their lives as a result of engaging security agencies, who were on ground to ensure that the curfew imposed in the state was adhered.

He called on residents to obey and adhere to the laid down laws, which is aimed at ensuring and guaranteeing our safety in Kaduna State.


He prayed and wished the state Governor. Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai speedy recovery, and renewed strength to carrying on with the task of making Kaduna State Great again.
