Covid-19 Lockdown: Destiny College Organises Radio Classes for Students In Kaduna

KADUNA, North-West, Nigeria – A Kaduna based private school, Destiny College, (DC), has organized radio classes for Senior Secondary School 3 students to keep them busy during the lockdown period.

Director of the school, Mr Akintunde Busayo, disclosed while speaking to the media in Kaduna on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

He said the programme which is wholly sponsored by the school is its own contribution to ensure that students remain on track and focus on their forthcoming national examinations.

The Director added that the programme which has already began on Monday, April 13 will also help discourage students from engaging on unproductive activities during this period.

He further added that he taught of distributing relief materials to the vulnerable, but a school of thought advised him to assist students in the state continue their studies even while at home.

According to him, subjects taught on the 1hour programme starting from April 13, 2020 Monday to Wednesday every week would focus on Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics and Government.

Busayo who said the programme is the first in the state to be sponsored by a private school would be aired on Liberty Radio from 5pm to 6pm on aforementioned days.

A parent, Malam Awwal Umar commended DC for the positive steps. In the same vein, a SS3 student, Jessica Samuel, said the programme will go a long way to keep her busy during the lockdown.

Similarly, Aisha Mainasara, lauded the school management for the kind taught to keep them busy during the period.
