Senator Gaya Mourns Emir of Rano, Condoles Family, Kano Emirate Council
Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya (APC Kano South) has expressed shock and sadness over the news of the sudden death of Emir of Rano, Dr Tafida Abubakar Ila II.
In a statement from the senator at the weekend, Senator Gaya expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the paramount ruler. He explained that news of the death of the former emir was a rude shock to him because he visited the royal father not long ago and he was not showing any sign of being unwell.
Senator Gaya sympathises with Kano State, the state governor, Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje, family and friends of the late emir.
The former Kano State governor particularly enjoined the family of the former emir to be strong in grief reminding them that death is a way for all mortals. He called on Rano Emirate Council to continue to uphold the virtues of the late emir because he was a man of integrity who believe in honesty at all times and imbibe in the fear of Almighty Allah in his dealings with colleagues, peers and subjects while alive.
The Kano South federal lawmaker added that the death of the emir has occurred at a time when his fatherly advice was needed as the world battles the covid 19 pandemic.
Dr Tafida was one of the emirs appointed recently by Governor Ganduje when the governor created other emirate council from the former Kano Emirate Council.
