Covid-19 :Kadpoly Alumni Association Sets Up Relief Outreach Committee

In a bid to cushion effect of the extended lockdown in the State due to the Covid-19 pandemic ravaging the world ,Kaduna Polytechnic Alumni Association (KPTAA) has set up a Relief Outreach Committee to mobilise  resources  ,purchase food items and distribute to its members and host communities.


Speaking during the inaugural meeting held at Kadpoly ASUP Secretariat ,Main Campus , Tudun-Wada, Kaduna recently,Chairman of the Relief Outreach Committee , Mal. Mohammed Bashir Sani said the decision to embark on the gesture is out of concern and need to alleviate the challenging effects of the Coronavirus .

He further said , ” The main objective of the  committee is to sensitize and mobilize resources for members of Kaduna Polytechnic Alumni Association and possibly Host communities of the Institution.” 


While explaining the criteria for the Committee membership , Mal. Sani  said representatives of the committee were nominated, because of their pedigree and antecedents of contributing towards the uplifting of ALUMNI members’ welfare in various capacities .


He therefore  urged the committee members to consider their nomination to serve on the KPTAA Relief Outreach Committee as sacrifice,” in order to achieve the objectives of this laudable initiative. “
He advised ,”  Our focus should be centered on how the committee can reach out to prominent members of the association, friends, individual groups such as those represented  at the meeting.”

Meanwhile ,four Sub-committees namely: Contact and mobilization, Distribution, Finance and Publicity committee were suggested and ratified during the inaugural meeting of the Main Committee  .


The President of Kaduna Polytechnic Alumni Association ,Hon. Abba Annas  is to  head  all committees ,while Senator Uba Sani was nominated to lead the Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the Relief Outreach Committee of the Alumni .


Letters were drafted and distributed to identified organisations , personalities and well meaning individuals in the society for support to make the project a successful one .
Members of the four sub-committees have since swung into action after they were immediately  inaugurated .
The first phase of the  distribution  of palliatives to start  on Thursday 21,2020 with Alumni members as beneficiaries, while the residents of Kaduna Polytechnic host (campus) communities are to benefit from the second phase .
