El-zakzaky Donates Food Items to Kaduna Journalists
Members of the Palliative Committee of Sheikh Ibrahim El-zakzaky led Islamic Movement in Nigeria, (IMN) donated food item to the Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists , Kaduna state.
Speaking shortly after delivering the food items at the Correspondents Chapel office ,Kaduna State on Sunday, the leader of Palliative team Mal. Mukhtar Abdullahi said , ” We consider the media as a veritable tool for information dissemination and development partner ,hence the resolved to reach out to with these package of palliative as part of sallah gift to cushion the effect Covid-19 lockdown. “
Presenting the items to the Correspondents Chapel Secretary, Mr. Idibia Gabriel, on behalf of the Chairman, Comrade Midat Joseph, Muktar Abdullahi also said the gesture is an annual ritual of the movement to give during Sallah.
While disclosing that that palliative team is reaching out to the members of public ,especially those in dire need ,he tasked the media to continue to be remain objective and fair their coverage and reportage of news.
He said despite the absence of the IMN leader,Sheikh El-zakzaky, who is still under incarceration , the concerns for those in need is our priority .
He not “We consider all members of the society for the gesture regardless of whether you are Muslim or Christian.
” We took this as a duty and imperative to give out food items to people mostly during Sallah and fasting period.
“This is what Sheikh Zakzaky have been doing before his arrest some years back, and he continued to give directive to maintain the status quo .”
He however said ,” We appealed to government and the authorities concern to fast track the case of Elzakzaky, adding that he’s seriously sick and needs medical attention.
When asked about his released based on the Presidential order to release prisoner because of corona virus, the team leader said, ” We have written to the ministry of justice but they said, the Sheikh’s name was not among those to be released.”
Receiving the Palliative at the Chapel office at News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, the chapel Secretary thanked the El-zazaky palliative Committee for the recognition and good gesture .
