The Member Representing Zango Kataf and Jaba Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Mr. Amos Gwamna Magaji has reaffirmed the need for communities to be tolerant and accommodate each other in the face of provocation.
He stated this following the recent killing of one Mr. Yusuf Moses Magaji at the outskirts of Zango kataf town, in Zango Kataf Local Government and the resultant tension that followed yesterday in the area.
The Member who condemned the gruesome killing of the young man by yet to be identified individuals, called for a thorough investigation into the matter for justice.
He commended the state government for the proactive response by deploying security operatives to contain the situation to avoid crisis and called on the people to respect the curfew imposed on the local government.
Mr. Amos Gwamna also condoled the family of the young man that was killed and prayed God to give them the fortitude to Bear the loss.
It would be recalled that, tension was high between the Hausa-Fulani community in Zango Kataf and the Atyap natives when the lifeless body of the 32 year old Yusuf Moses Magaji was recovered by a combined team of the police and soldiers at a river bank around the boundary between Zango Kataf and Kauru local government areas. His body has been deposited at the mortuary in St. Louis hospital, Zonkwa.
