Nigeria @ 60 : Koro Chief Urges Buhari to Tackle Challenges Militating Against Progress ,Development
As Nigerians celebrates 60th Independent Anniversary as a nation,His Majesty, the Ere Koro 1 of Koro Chiefdom in Kagarko Local government Area of Kaduna State, Mr. Yohanna Akaito (JP), has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to take proactive measures towards tackling the challenges militating against the progress and development of Nigeria .
The monarch stressed the need for the current Buhari administration to summon courage and take tough decisions for the good of the present generation and to build a strong foundation on which generation to come can improve on it,he said .
He observed that failure to take right decisions is what led us to where we are today and the situation we find ourselves.” It is therefore very imperative that we summon courage now, and pool our shared will to take these tough decisions for the good of the present generation and building a strong foundation on which on-coming generations can build,” he stated .
His Majesty, The Ere Koro 1 of Koro Chiefdom ,Mr Yohanna Akaito (JP), who gave the advice in his goodwill massage to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufa’i noted that though the country was facing numerous challenges yet,it remains a united nation , still standing and moving forward .
While commending Buhari for the laudable achievements recorded in the last five years in some of the sectors of the economy ,the Ere Koro 1,said Nigerians must commend our forefathers who fought hard for the country to attain nationhood .
He then said ,” We still need to be steadfast and forge a common front, so that we can use and enjoy the freedom we gained in the last 60 years as s nation . We must also commend our forefathers who fought for our common goal.”
His Royal Majesty also enjoined all Nigerians to join hands together with present administration to forge ahead, so as to make the nation greater at all times .
He equally reminded Nigerians of the sacrifice of the nation’s founding fathers and enjoined them to continue to unite in building a stronger nation and urged Nigerians to promote the things that unite the people as the country has much in common that those things that divide it .
He however, advised Nigerians to focus more on promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and sustainable development rather than dissipate energy on issues that cause disunity among people of this great nation,he pointed out.
Mr Yohanna Akaito (JP), also appealed to governor Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufa’i, to provide them with good roads across the entire Chiefdom . Adding that seventy five per cent of his people are mostly farmers and are faced with so many challenges, especially they lack access to good road network that would make it easy for them to convey their food stuffs after harvesting from their various farms, mostly located in the bushes, to some of the measure markets within the area and their neighbours .
He cited some of the dilapidated roads that needs urgent attention such as Bakin Kasuwar Shadalafiya to Sabon Gida, from Sabon Gida to Gidan Kundi, from Kuduri, the road links with FCT Abuja, he stated .
According to him , markets within the Chiefdom such as the Kubacha market, Shadalafiya market , LCC market, Kagarko market and Jere market who were there neighbors need attention.
His Majesty Mr Yohanna Akaito (JP), stated that, as traditional leaders, they will continue to promote unity, peaceful coexistence and tolerance amongst their people regardless of their race or religious differences .
