We’ve Spent over N4.5m on Food for Over 600 Widows in Jaba – Hon Dikko
The member representing Jaba Local Government in Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Samson Monday Dikko has said that since his inauguration as member Kaduna House of Assembly representing Jaba constituency he has spent 4.5 million naira on food for over 600 widows in Jaba Local Government.
Speaking at a Town Hall meeting in Kwoi to brief members of his constituency on his achievements and programmes, Hon.Dikko said he has also spent another #2.7million on foodstuff like beens, rice, maize,guinea corn when hunger was biting his people very hard in August 2019. After a month later his wife spent the sum of #900,000 on corn flour, semovita and other items on women in Jaba Local Government Area.
Hon.Dikko disclosed that foodstuff, tricycles and other items were distributed to widows, orphans and people with disabilities across hamland. He explained that having realized that his income was not enough for the Kind if services he desired to render to his constituents he went in search of a helper in the person of Chief Dr. Chetachi Ecton( Tir Ham) of the When In Need Foundation NGO who in her Philanthropic magnanimity on Ham people spent the sum of #3.7million on foodstuff, soaps, drinks and cooking ingredients to widows, orphans and people with disabilities. He said the When In Need Foundation NGO in complementing his efforts carried out a free medical outreach in Hamland in Kwoi and Fai respectively and the sum of #20 million was spent on the programme. On empowerments Hon. Dikko he has empowered and sponsored over 70 people across hamland and beyond in a multi-marketing network business called BF SUMA with the sum of #44,100 and #26,100 per person respectively with most of the beneficiaries are self- employed and financially empowered through this gesture. Also 15 persons from his constituency have been trained in Fashion Design in Kaduna who have graduated successfully. He further explained that during Covid-19 pandemic, the Federal Government came up with an intervention programme and he secured forms for 150 people from his constituency with the sum of #1.5 million. Hon Dikko said that during the covid-19 lock down this year, it becomes apparently clear that hunger looms in the coming year as a lot of people could not farm due to the lockdown and hardship couple with insecurity in the land Chief Dr. Chetach Ecton(Tie Ham) supplied seedlings like maize, rice, beans,okra, and soybeans costing millions of naira to over 3000 farmers across hamland to stem off hunger next year. On Education, Hon. Dikko disclosed that in order to ” encourage our children to pursue their educational career, i paid the sum of #250,000 JAMB registration fee for 50 people across Jaba local government. in 2019″ and has secured admission for over 30 people in various institutions of learning in the country.On employment Hon Dikko pointed out that although the labour market is almost saturated he has been able to secured employment for 7 people as lecturers at the Kaduna State College of Education Gidan Waya, 2 at the Kaduna state University, 1 cadet officer at the Nigerian Army who has graduated as a lieutenant. He said that he has invested heavily to secure employment for Jaba youths, and to this end he has obtained over 40 slots for Jobless youths at the federal level. Hon. Dikko being the House Committee Chairman on Sports said he will revamp sporting activities in hamland being the largest platform for unity amongst the youths, and pointed out that the Kaduna state Ministry of sports is organizing a Marathon Race Competition which comes up in November this year, which he has purchased 30 forms to engage 30 athletes from the constituency with 3 athletes from each ward. He then thanked the good people of Jaba constituency for giving him the opportunity to represent them, and admonished all the stakeholders, statesmen, well meaning sons and daughters of Hamland irrespective of political affiliation to eschew politics of bitterness, rancour, hatred and primitive politics to ensure the progress of Hamland, Kaduna state,and Nigeria in general. Earlier in her address the Chief Dr. Chetachi Ecton ( Tir Ham) of When In Need Foundation NGO has said that her organization will continue to partner with the member for the general upliftment of Jaba constituency, and called on the people of the constituency to continue to give the unflinching support and loyalty to their member to enable him to several them better.Also speaking the Paramount ruler of Ham Dr. Danladi Gyet Maude (OON) commended honourable Dikko for the effective and good representation he is offering the people of Jaba constituency in the house, and assured that the people of Jaba local Government will continue to give him the necessary support at all times. Dr. Dr. Gyet Maude then implored other politicians in the area to emulate the good gestures of Hon.Samson Monday Dikko. The Chief of Jaba was ably represented by the Danmalikin Jaba Mallam Luka Net.In his own speech, the National President of HAMDA Community Development Association Mr. Amos Usman Gidan Mana has thank Honourable Monday Dikko for giving the people of constituency proper and affective representation, and implored the members of his constituency to continue to give him the desire support to enable him achieve the set objectives.Highlights of the occasion was a football march where players were screen to form Hon.
