Sheikh Gumi Urges Southern Kaduna People to Bury Differences , Embrace Peace
A respected Islamic cleric ,Sheikh ( Dr.) Abubakar Gumi has called on the people of southern Kaduna to bury their differences and begin to collaborate in order to bring peace in the region.
Sheikh Gumi ,who is a co-chairman of the House of Kaduna Family of the Kaduna State Peace Commission made the call at the Southern Kaduna Stakeholders Dialogue on promoting social Cohesion and Peace Building organized by the Kaduna State Peace Commission in Madakiya.
According to him, all Nigerians are watching developments to see how the conflict there can be resolved so that they can learn from the region experience.
The Cleric opined that government and leaders have all failed to bring peace in the past, and it has become the responsibility of members of the House of Kaduna Family to work with Stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the conflicts.
He explained that the mission of the House of Kaduna Family is to learn from the people themselves so that efforts can be made to work towards dialogue to resolve the conflicts in Southern Kaduna.
He then observed that Southern Kaduna is a melting point and home to different ethnic tribes and religions, and so what happens have lasting impact on the rest of the country.
“Our objective is to get at the bottom of the challenges and crisis an to proffer solutions, that is why we have to consult with the people and Stakeholders” he added.
