Northern based group under umbrella of Tinubu- Arewa Youth Political Support Group has promised to Mobilise nothing less than three million registered voters in the north for former Lagos State Governor and leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu if he declares to contest the Presidential election come 2023 .
The group, which is a network of Progressive Youth said it believes in unity, good governance, equality and fair play in the political system, hence decision to mobilize the 3 million registered voters through the campaign we tagged ” Operation Show Voter’s Card” .
It also said ,”Our Group has started tasking its members to support its purse that seek to gather upto 45 million naira in preparation to purchase the APC Presidential Form (that is Expression of Interest Form #5, million and Nomination Form #40million) for His Excellency, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
In a Statement jointly signed by the President ,Salisu Dawaki and Secretary ,Lawal Musa of the Tinubu-Arewa Youth Political Support Group ” It is prepared to mobilize a working/monitoring committee to go round the cyber cafe within the state and local state and local government capital where the online continuous voters registration may take place from the 28th of June, government 2021 to the closing for counselling or sensitization.
While stating that it shall be given intermittent report of the activities, the group maintained ,”We considered it necessary to send this comprehensive feedback of our activities, and also to alert our people with the some challenges which must be confronted and resolved collectively to be able to fill the desired gaps in the recent INEC Continuous Voters Registration exercise
It however noted that , ” This task is Herculean, we know, but also a necessity for the benefit of our people, It is therefore our candid believe that citizen support in this direction is need for the sake of our fatherland.”
On its activities so far , the group said”We had an interface with the relevant stakeholders across board for wider consultation, this is in addition to series of physical and online meetings of the Group membership and coalition members.
“We established a communication tool between us, the 19 northern states and their respective local governments and with other well-meaning genuine lover of democracy to effect this task, even though only a sizeable number responded back to us. We hope those still in doubt will find it necessary after areview of this report to call us.
“We constituted local government representatives committee (Field Reps), having one resourceful person from each local government to echo our activities and awareness campaigns to the people of that local government across the nineteen (19) Northern states plus Abuja.
“We also have constituted a three (3) man sub-committee (State Coordinators), one person from each of the 19 northern states to oversees the activities of the local government representatives ana the port same to the central administrators at the headquarters. This was done to enhance speedy flow of information and door-to-door sensitization.
“Effort to ease the burdens that may associate with the online voter’s registration for our people is onthe top gear.”
