Christian Youths in Northern Nigeria have been told to be paragons of nation-building by being partisan politicians and get very much involved in the coming politics of 2023 general elections as it draws nearer.
The charge was made by Hamisu Idris Medugu during a presentation of an outstanding award to him in Yola, Adamawa state on Friday.
Idris received the Award in recognition of his humanitarian and community development, selfless service to the Youths of Adamawa state and beyond.
Idris who delegated Honourable Musa Ahmed (Ajayi), former Mubi South Local Government Chairman said politics is a game of number and participation, without much participation by the Christian youth, they will have much limitations and constraint to help themselves talk more of helping others in dare needs.
Ajayi who was responding to the award on behalf of Hamisu while on received worried how the Christian Youths relegated themselves at the backdrop despite their much leadership potentials.
He advised them not to be deceived by those throwing a religion bate politics to achieve their selfish interest, as according to him in politics personal interest supersede other interest, and politics of religion is a deceits unpopular politicians use to score a political point.
“Forget about those people using religion to succeed in their style of politics, they are using it for their selfish interest. Religion politics exists only when there is a particular interest by a particular politician who is not electable material.
” All I want to tell you is to get involved in politics, if you are not participating you cannot be noticed, and once you are not into it nobody can help you and you can not help anyone.
“Christian Youths have what it takes to have a good leader, it’s our time let us do it together to save our land. Don’t drag your feet, don’t relegate yourself to the background. ” Musa charged them.
National Youth wing of Northern Christian has found Idris worthy of the award because of his selfless service to humanity irrespective of religion, tribe, or place of origin.
Pastor Joshua Olala Adams who is the President of the group said Medugu’s gesture of love to many youths in Adamawa and other parts of the country caught the attention of the association to so honor him.
While reminding him to understand that the award is a further task on him to do much more for God in the area of empowerment, create more jobs, and harp on unity in the whole of Adamawa he said Medugu is an exceptional role model that need to be encouraged.
Hamisu who is aspiring to be a Senator for Adamawa Northern Senatorial District vowed to work for the system that will mainstream Youths into a place of self-empowerment.
While thanking them, Ajayi his representative appreciated the Youth who have traveled from far and near to honor Hamisu, a young man he said that is full of vigor, wisdom, intelligence, and educated enough to take Adamawa Northern zone to another level of development in 2023.
